$5000
Solo's Warriors
Veterans gathered during hunting season in a supportive outdoor environment focused on connection and healing. Funding provided essential supplies including food, ammunition, propane, and on-site accommodations, allowing participants to fully engage in the experience. Time in the field created space for peer support, meaningful conversations, and a renewed sense of peace among those who understand the challenges of PTSD and suicide.
$500
Boots on the Trail
Veterans and active duty service members worked side by side on trail systems, using hand tools to clear brush and remove fallen trees. Funding supported the purchase of tools and essential consumables, allowing these efforts to continue and expand. The simplicity of the work created an environment for natural conversation, connection, and shared purpose, proving to be a highly effective way to build camaraderie and support among participants.
$6500
Project Healing Waters
Veterans and volunteers came together for a guided steelhead fishing trip designed to strengthen relationships and build lasting connections. Funding supported lodging, professional guides, and meals, ensuring a well-organized and accessible experience for all participants. This ongoing event continues to provide meaningful opportunities for camaraderie, shared experiences, and lasting memories among the veteran community.
$500
Wellston Legion Post 371
Veterans were introduced to fly tying as a calming, hands-on activity that promotes focus and stress relief. Funding provided vices, toolkits, and materials needed to fully equip participants and support instruction. Through learning this skill, veterans gained a healthy outlet to redirect their thoughts, build patience, and share in a meaningful activity that fosters both personal healing and connection with others.
$1000
Ohio Veterans Outdoors
Veterans were given the opportunity to participate in a fully supported turkey hunt on private and public land in southern Ohio. Funding covered licenses, ammunition, food, and essential gear, allowing participants to attend without financial burden. By providing everything needed for the experience, the hunt created an environment where veterans could focus on the outdoors, build connections, and enjoy a shared sense of purpose and camaraderie.
