Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, and Assumption of Risk
By selecting “Yes, I have read and agree,” I acknowledge and agree to the following:
I am voluntarily applying to participate in the Columbus Marathon through financial assistance provided by Veteran Recreation Ohio. I understand that participation in a marathon and related training activities involves inherent and significant risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, illness, permanent disability, or death, as well as property damage.
I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, associated with my training for and participation in the Columbus Marathon.
In consideration of Veteran Recreation Ohio paying my entry fee, I hereby fully and irrevocably release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Veteran Recreation Ohio, including its directors, officers, board members, employees, volunteers, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and representatives, from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses of any kind, whether arising from negligence or otherwise, related to or arising out of my participation in the Columbus Marathon.
I understand and acknowledge that Veteran Recreation Ohio does not organize, operate, supervise, or control the Columbus Marathon and is solely providing financial support for my entry.
I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Veteran Recreation Ohio from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of my participation in the event.
By selecting “Yes,” I confirm that I have carefully read this agreement, understand its legal significance, and voluntarily agree to be bound by its terms.
